Amazon has removed from its website books promoting "remedies" for autism.
According to ABC News, Amazon is the last big company to try to limit the number of misinformation about autism and the "wrong notion" that vaccines are the cause. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that there is no treatment for autism spectrum disorders, but only drugs that help some people function better. Officials also said that there was no connection between vaccines and autism.
A spokesperson for Amazon confirmed that the books were no longer available, but he did not answer any additional questions, reported ABC. Last week, Facebook announced that it would hide the results of its research on groups that spread misinformation about vaccines that cause autism.
