Amazon says some Xbox Series X pre-orders won’t arrive until December 31 at the latest

Amazon is warning customers that Xbox Series X pre-orders may not arrive tomorrow. In an email to some Amazon customers, the retailer said it plans to ship some consoles “in the coming weeks as we will receive more inventory in November and December.” Amazon estimates that affected pre-orders will receive Xbox Series X units by or before December 31.

The emails are sent to a wide variety of people, and some who pre-ordered on Amazon have yet to receive a shipping notification with just a day before the Xbox Series X launch. It’s surprising to see those emails arrive less than 24 hours before the Xbox Series X is supposed to ship, but it’s unclear how many are affected by the delay.

Amazon sent a similar email to some customers who pre-ordered the PS5 in September. It warned that some shipments might not arrive on November 12, and it was dispatched just days after preorders started. We have reached out to Amazon for comment on the Xbox Series X situation and will keep you posted accordingly.
