Paul Felder takes on Rafael dos Anjos in new UFC Vegas 14 main event

With Islam Makhachev out, Paul Felder has agreed to face Rafael dos Anjos in a five-round main fight this Saturday night at UFC Vegas 14.

UFC officials have confirmed the match against MMA Fighting following an initial report from ESPN.

Felder accepts the fight with just five days’ notice after Makhachev was forced to pull out of the shock of the main event in Las Vegas.

After initially hinting at a possible retirement following a shared decision loss by Dan Hooker on his previous outing, Felder opted to continue his career, but he had not been booked since that fight in February. Overall, Felder is 2-1 in his last three fights, including wins over Edson Barboza and James Vick.

Lately, Felder has been a mainstay of UFC broadcasts as a commentator and color analyst, but now he will move back into the Octagon to face a former lightweight champion.

Dos Anjos is making his comeback at 155 pounds after leaving the division to pursue welterweight fights for the past several years. The Brazilian won the lightweight title in 2015.

The UFC Vegas 14 card drops Saturday night at UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
