Amazon's plan to offer a one-day delivery to a union that wants to represent warehouse workers shouting scandal.

On Friday, the Internet retail giant announced that it would soon be promising its Premium members to receive their orders in a day.

In response, the union of retailers, wholesalers and department stores, which is trying to organize Amazon workers in various parts of the country, said warehouse workers were already struggling to handle 200 to 300 orders per hour in twelve day shipping.

"If Amazon is considering doubling speed, it must also meet the needs of the existing workforce and ensure the safety of its workers," Stuart Appelbaum, union president, said in a statement. "The increase in turnaround times means that they have to hire more workers, in more sustainable times that do not put workers' lives in danger."

Dave Clark of Amazon, vice president of international operations, rejected Appelbaum's remarks and accused the union leader of continuing to "denounce lies".

"We appreciate his concern for our associates, but his concern is wrong and self-serving," Clark said in a statement to CNN.
