Amitabh Bachchan reveals that he is suffering from hepatitis B
The Bollywood star, Amitabh Bachchan, revealed that he had been diagnosed with hepatitis B but was living normally despite the disease.
The 76-year-old actor was speaking at the launch of the National Action Plan to Fight Viral Hepatitis in India.
Bachchan said that this discrimination is "wrong" and was shocked to know how things are going for women suffering from the disease.
"If I can be the living example for the citizens of the country who, although suffering from hepatitis B, live normally, I will be happy to do so," he added.
Bachchan, the World Health Organization's Goodwill Ambassador for Hepatitis Control in the South-East Asia Region, said women should be treated with respect and dignity.
The Bollywood star said that if his voice and face could help to raise awareness and change the way people think and treat people with this disease, he will fight to the end to raise awareness among patients. hepatitis B
