An internal memo suggests to legitimize the video on the explosion of a SpaceX crew capsule

A memo obtained by the Orlando Sentinel seems to confirm that a video showing an explosion when a SpaceX astronaut capsule test is authentic – which, as the newspaper indicates, has not been until now publicly admitted by the space company run by Elon Musk nor by NASA.

"As most of you know, SpaceX has done a fire test of its crew capsule stopping [Cape Canaveral Air Force Station], and they had an anomaly, "reads in an email that, according to Sentinel's report, was sent to employees of Jacobs, an aerospace company under contract with NASA to perform tests.

"Subsequently, a video of the failed test – which was not published by SpaceX or NASA – appeared on the Internet."

The video of the apparent explosion appeared for the first time on a pseudonymous Twitter account which then deleted the message, even if it has been reproduced since on YouTube.

SpaceX and NASA remained silent about this incident, simply calling it an "anomaly" and committing to investigate.

The email indicated to Jacobs employees that it was "forbidden for them to photograph or record on video the operational activities taking place on the property of KSC CCAFS, unless an official authorization ", according to the Sentinel newspaper.

"It is up to NASA and other on-site companies to determine information about their activities that is made public."
