Peril! Executive producer Mike Richards announced the new lineup of guest hosts, listing Anderson Cooper, Savannah Guthrie, Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Sanjay Gupta as the latest TV personalities ready to lead the trivia game.
Joining Bill Whitaker, Mayim Bialik, Katie Couric and Aaron Rodgers, the newly announced guest hosts will take over from the emcee following the death of Alex Trebek. As part of each host’s time on the show, Peril! will donate to a charity of their choice. The amount given will correspond to the cumulative earnings of the competitors who will compete during the weeks in which they are invited.
“We look forward to each guest host bringing their unique abilities to the show and our competitors making a lot of money that we can match for charity,” said Richards.
While the majority of the newly announced hosts did not appear on the trivia game, Cooper has already participated Jeopardy! Powerful players tournament in 2012 and 2016.
After Trebek’s death in November, Peril! former Ken Jennings and Richards have alternated as hosts. Jennings initially joined the current season as a consulting producer.
