Andrew Yang hospitalized with apparent kidney stone, campaign says

Yang visited an emergency room on Friday morning after experiencing abdominal pain and remains in the hospital with his wife, Evelyn, his campaign said in a statement.

His public Friday events are called off, “but he looks forward to getting back on track in the days to come,” the campaign said.

Yang, a Democrat, officially jumped into the race in January and has since become the best-known candidate in a crowded field to succeed Bill de Blasio as New York’s next mayor.
A former tech executive, Yang sought the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, going from a relatively obscure candidate to becoming a nationally recognized candidate with a staunch base of supporters known as Yang Gang, who helped him to collect $ 40 million during its run.

The primary elections for the New York mayoral race will take place on June 22.
