Los Angeles Angels fans have had their money left behind and mocked with the Houston Astros arriving at the ballpark for the start of a three-game series at the start of the 2021 regular season.
Play was halted twice during the game on Monday night when a fan threw an explosive trash can on the grounds of Angel Stadium. Moments later, a real trash can hit the warning trail. The Houston players were also subjected to “Astros suck” chants, according to ESPN.

Astros players were not subjected to this during the shortened 2020 season, as fans were excluded from the baseball stadium due to coronavirus restrictions. Fans still seemed bitter over the cheating scandal that forced the layoffs of Jeff Luhnow and AJ Hinch. No active actor was involved.
Houston implemented a program during the 2017 championship season in which signs of opposing players would be sent back to the dugout and an employee banged on a trash can to tell the Astros hitter what was going to happen, an investigation from the MLB.
Current Astros director Dusty Baker has argued their debt has already been paid.

“You can tell the amount of hostility and the amount of hate in the stands,” Baker said, via ESPN. “How many people in the stands haven’t done anything wrong in their life? We paid the price for it. How many people haven’t cheated on a test or whatever at one time. I mean, it’s easy if you live in glass houses, but I think nobody lives in glass houses.
“I think sometimes we have to look at ourselves before we spit hate on someone else. It’s a sad situation for America, for me, when you hear things – I mean what the kids are supposed to be thinking in the stands? And some of them are children who follow their parents. It’s sad for me. People make mistakes. We paid ours, and I wish they’d left that alone. “
