Anker PowerCore + 19000 PD: a new design and new features make this battery very attractive

Batteries have become commonplace. These small power banks are easy to carry and allow to complete a phone or tablet, and more recently with the addition of Power Delivery (PD) features, even a laptop, when of your displacements.

The Anker's PowerCore + 19000 has a slightly modified design, deviating from the standard black brick. The PowerCore + 19000 features a two-tone aesthetic, consisting of a space gray top and a matte black background. Its corners are rounded. This looks more beautiful than the old Anker packs, and I hope the company will stick to the new design.

There are three ports at the front: a USB-C port and two normal USB ports, as well as a power button. At the top is a circular load indicator, consisting of 11 points.

The USB port located on the far left provides up to 15 W of power, the port located to its right serving up to 10 W of power. The USB-C port is used to charge the pack and power a tablet, a laptop or a Nintendo switch with a power of up to 27 W.

Internal batteries total up to 19,000 mAh, or 71.04 Wh. In our tests, the PowerCore + 19000 provided 60.6 Wh of electricity at a constant voltage of 5V / 2.5A. This is enough to place the package in the top third of the packets we have tested for effectiveness. When charging a Nintendo switch or iPad Pro, the pack remained stable at 14.5V / 2.93A.

Inside the box are a 30W USB-C wall adapter and a USB-C-to-USB-C cable. The adapter and the cable have charged the pack in 3 hours and 21 minutes.

All things considered, it is a respectable battery in itself. But the PoweCore + 19000 does even more. It also serves as a USB hub, which will simultaneously charge a laptop and allow you to access files stored on a USB stick or connect accessories to your laptop.

I've tested this feature on a MacBook Pro and it worked without a problem. To enable hub mode, press the power button for two seconds. The power lights turn several times, then blink every three seconds. Connect the pack to your laptop, then connect a USB accessory to the pack.

I followed the instructions and a few seconds after having everything connected, all the files from the USB drive were available in the Finder application. It was a pretty cool thing, and I could see myself using it when I was traveling.

AT Amazon's asking price of $ 85, the PowerCore + 19000 is expensive, but when you think about what it brings: a 30W wall adapter, a battery and a USB hub, it's good value for money -price for those who depend on such a pack
