Another game, another day of 100 yards for Mark Andrews

Mark Andrews arrived at the training camp this summer with a boastful air, an obvious intention to have a great year.

This attitude has worn in the regular season. With his second consecutive day of 100 yards (eight catches, 112 yards, one touchdown), Andrews was the most productive target for quarterback Lamar Jackson in Sunday's 23-17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

Andrews is the first Raven to have played 100 straight yards since Mike Wallace in 2016. Wallace was a speedster. Andrews looks more like a multi-purpose tank.

The end of the Ravens' second year can beat the defenders or be led by them, and he does it without mercy. Andrews says his prisoner-free take-on style comes naturally, a transformation that occurs whenever he enters the field.

"Apart from football, I'm a bit of a different person," said Andrews. "But I like football, its competitiveness. It brings out the best of me. There is nothing better than going there and winning your head-to-head games. I live for that.

While Andrews made catches that showed his athletic ability, his 24-yard touchdown was more strategy-focused. Worried about the threat of wide receiver Ravens, Marquise Brown, lined up outside, the Cardinals were fooled. Lamar Jackson simulated a throw against Brown while Andrews was spinning along the side line to the end zone without anyone covering him. Jackson spotted Andrews wide open and managed one of the easiest pitches of the day for a touchdown.
