NEW YORK – Dozens of immigration policy protesters were arrested during a protest outside a Microsoft store in New York.

Police said Saturday they arrested 76 people who had blocked traffic near the Fifth Avenue store in Manhattan.

The protesters blamed Microsoft for doing business with the US Immigration and Customs Service.

They decried what they called the agency's racist campaign against immigrants and asylum seekers.

A spokeswoman for Microsoft said the company had closed the store for the rest of the day.

The protest comes as criticism of companies working with ICE increases.

Some Microsoft employees last year asked to cancel their data processing contract with ICE.

Saturday's walk and sit-in were organized by a coalition called Close the Camps NYC.
