FLORENCE – State officials have fined another restaurant in Florence for several violations of guidelines designed to protect employees from COVID-19.

The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced Wednesday that it has fined the Firehouse Restaurant & Lounge more than $ 18,000 for allowing dining inside, not having infection control plan and failing to conduct a risk assessment, The Register-Guard reported.

Firehouse is the second restaurant in Florence that the state fined this month for reopening inside. Oregon OSHA said Tuesday it fined Little Brown Hen in Florence $ 17,800.

The restaurant is closed on Wednesdays and did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the newspaper.

Several complaints sparked an inspection of the restaurant and OSHA decided to proceed with the inspection over the phone after an “investigation of social media posts and websites uncovered the potential for armed individuals to block the restaurant. access to the company, ā€¯according to a press release.
