Wallops and the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport of Virginia are expected to support the launch of the Antares rocket, which will transport the company's Cygnus cargo ship to the International Space Station.

According to NASA, the weather forecast is 95% favorable for the launch. An area of ​​high pressure will force a cold front south on the northeastern east coast today. Once the front passes through, the winds move from east to northeast and increase with gusts of wind in the upper part of adolescence while causing a faint cloudiness across the beach . Altitude cloudiness will also increase during the afternoon while a slight disturbance in altitude approaches the east coast.

According to the Accomack County Public Safety Department, Arbuckle Neck Road will close its doors to non-residents today at 2:00 pm.

NASA's Visitor Center at Wallops will open at noon for launch viewing. The Robert Reed Park, located on Chincoteague Island, or Beach Road, which covers the area between the Chincoteague and Assateague Islands, is another place to launch. The beach at Assateague Island Seashore / Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge will not be open during the launch.

Visitors are reminded that alcohol, pets and firearms are not permitted on the NASA Visitors Center site. In addition, due to the limited number of parking spaces, oversized vehicles, such as caravans and RVs, will not be able to park on the grounds of the Visitor Center.
