Antonio Brown goes home. It remains to be seen if he plays football when he is in South Florida this weekend.
Mike Giardi of the NFL reports that Brown has joined his new teammates for their Miami match against the Dolphins.
This does not mean that he is definitely playing. Each team disables seven members of its active list each week. (In addition, it is possible that Brown is on the active player list and does not play, like Malcolm Butler in the Super Bowl LII.)
Brown practiced all week and, as explained on the NBC website Football Night in America Last week, whether Brown actually plays or not, it depends on whether and how much he learns the game book and fits the blame. There could be a limited package of games. He could be a decoy. Or he could be completely immersed.
Last year, receiver Josh Gordon missed his first game with the Patriots after being traded to Cleveland in New England.
On Friday, coach Bill Belichick refused to look into these details. Why would he? Uncertainty could help the Patriots win the game by 50 points instead of 30, you know.
