AOC faces backlash from GOP Rep. Nancy Mace, others on Capitol demands
U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., was criticized on Wednesday for her initial statements about the Jan.6 riot on Capitol Hill, with many noting that she was not even inside the Capitol when it happened.
Controversy erupted after Ocasio-Cortez posted a video in which she described a confrontation with Capitol Police in her office, which is not located in the Capitol itself but in the Cannon Building elsewhere in the Capitol complex.
She faced a wave of backlash on Wednesday from critics like Rep. Nancy Mace, RS.C., who tweeted that insurgents never stormed the hallway she shares with Ocasio. – Get out.

Cheney survives candidacy to remove her from GOP House executive
Besieged U.S. Representative Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., Didn’t apologize for her vote three weeks ago to impeach then-President Trump – and in the end, she didn’t need to.
On Wednesday night, the Speaker of the House Republican Conference easily survived a push from House loyalists GOP Trump to strip her of the party’s third leadership position.
In a secret ballot vote by the entire Republican House Conference, only 61 members voted against Cheney, with 145 supporting her. GOP House Leader Kevin McCarthy was among those urging other Republicans to keep Cheney in his role.
According to multiple sources, McCarthy urged party members to move past Cheney’s impeachment vote and stay united in order to recapture the House majority in the 2022 midterm election. CLICK HERE FOR MORE.

Parler CEO John Matze says he was fired: ‘I was not involved in this decision’
Talk – the social media platform that’s popular with many conservatives – has fired CEO John Matze, according to a Matze memo sent to staff members and obtained by Fox News.
“On January 29, 2021, the board of directors of Parler controlled by Rebekah Mercer decided to immediately terminate my position as CEO of Parler. I was not involved in that decision,” Matze wrote. “I understand that those who now control the company have made communications to employees and other third parties which unfortunately caused confusion and prompted me to make this public statement.”
Matze wrote that in recent months he has encountered “constant resistance” to his original take on the platform following Amazon Web Services’ decision to shut down Parler for failing to moderate the “blatant content” related to the platform. riot on January 6 at the Capitol.
“Over the past few months, I have encountered constant resistance to my product vision, my strong belief in free speech, and my vision for how Parler should be run. For example, I advocated for greater product stability and what I believe to be a more effective approach to content moderation, ”Matze wrote.

Conservative author and commentator Mark Steyn warned of overt attempts to censor Tory discourse when he appeared Wednesday night on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight”.
“The general climate for free speech in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia – pretty much everywhere in the Western world – is worse than a decade ago,” Steyn said.
“And between this malignant alliance – in fact a merger between Big Tech and the state – we enter a literally Orwellian world where phrases come out of Orwell’s ‘1984’ … [Orwell] uses the phrase “reality check” … The New York Times supports the creation of a federal agency under the control of a so-called reality czar. ”
