Apple killed Aperture in 2014, but there are still photographers who have chosen to continue using the beloved management and photo editing app. If it suits you, there is bad news: Aperture will not work on Mac after MacOS Mojave.
In a new article on its support page, Apple reveals that Aperture compatibility with Mac is coming to an end since the publication of this latest major release published in September 2018. This article explains how users of Aperture can migrate their photo libraries to Adobe Photos Adobe Lightroom.
"In June 2014, Apple announced the discontinuation of Aperture development," writes Apple. "Since then, Apple has released five major updates to macOS.
"For technical reasons, Aperture will not work in future versions of macOS after macOS Mojave. To continue using your Aperture photo libraries, you must migrate them to the Photos application provided with macOS or Adobe Lightroom Classic. "
