Apple Confirms Serious New Problems For iPhone Users

Apple’s iPhone 12 problems are piling up with increasing reports of tinted green screens, signal drops and high battery drain, but the company has now confirmed a serious new iPhone issue that requires a reminder.

Apple acknowledged that “a small percentage of iPhone 11 screens may stop responding to touch due to a problem with the display module.” The company announced a replacement program and confirmed that the affected devices were manufactured for a six-month period between November 2019 and May 2020.

Apple didn’t put a number on its “small percentage,” but with nearly 40 million iPhone 11 units sold between January and June 2020, it only takes a small percentage to add millions of units. If your iPhone 11 is having touch response issues, you can enter its serial number on the replacement program page to check if it is eligible for repair.

Qualifying iPhone 11s can be repaired either by an Apple Authorized Service Provider, an official retail store, or through the company’s courier repair service. Beware of Apple states:

“If your iPhone 11 has any damage that hinders the ability to repair, such as a cracked screen, that issue will need to be resolved prior to service. In some cases, the additional repair may incur costs. “

Therefore, if you thought it was a chance to get your cracked iPhone 11 screen repaired for free, think again. And if you send an affected iPhone 11 with even small cracks in the screen, be prepared to receive an invoice for its replacement as part of the touchscreen repair process. Conversely, Apple notes: “If you believe your iPhone 11 has been affected by this issue and you have paid to repair your device, you can contact Apple for a refund.”

Apple’s reputed quality control seems to have slipped in recent years. Green tinted screens were also an issue for the iPhone 11, while the quality of official iPhone 12 cases has been called alongside other ongoing iPhone 12 hardware and software issues.

With leaks revealing that Apple will be making sweeping changes to the iPhone lineup next year, anyone still waiting to upgrade might want to wait for now.
