Performance, battery life and charging

Thanks to the very powerful processors of these two phones, you will get smoothly powerful performances, whatever your choice. The iPhone 11 is powered by Apple's A13 Bionic processor, which offers everything you need to do for modern 3D games and resource-hungry applications. Although our tests are not yet complete, the A13 is probably superior to the Galaxy S10e Snapdragon 855 in terms of results – although it is unlikely that there will be a big difference in daily use.

By the way, there is a significant difference between the storage options offered. While the iPhone 11 offers the option of 256GB of storage, the $ 699 model only offers 64GB, while the S10e starts up from 128GB. In addition, the S10e can accommodate a MicroSD card, offering up to 1TB of additional storage. This is something to keep in mind if you record a lot of movies or take a lot of pictures.

Moving on to battery life, the iPhone 11 improves its predecessor with a solid battery life all day long. The battery life is definitely a weak point for the S10e, because the Samsung phone runs almost all day. Both are equipped with a fast and wireless charging, but only the S10e comes with a quick charger in the box. Apple only includes a slow charger of 5 W with the iPhone 11, which is a major disappointment.

Despite the slower loading, we give this trick to the iPhone 11 for its larger battery and powerful performance.

Winner: Apple iPhone 11

Design and sustainability

The iPhone 11 is almost identical to the iPhone XR and it's not bad, unless you do not like the notch or the important bumps of the camera on the back. The S10e is slightly smaller than the iPhone 11, but it's not bad for those with smaller hands. The iPhone 11's hulls are slightly thicker than those of the S10e, but they contrast with the iPhone 11's beautiful back panel, while the S10e's back looks a bit dated.

What about sustainability? The glass of both phones means that you will probably want a case for iPhone 11 or a case S10e anyway, but the IP68 protection level of both devices offers significant resistance to water. The S10e also has a headphone jack.

This category is too close to be called. Although we prefer the whole iPhone, the camera bumps a little, but the S10e is not perfect either. It must be a tie.

Display

The iPhone 11 has the same LCD screen (Liquid Retina) of 6.1 inches as the iPhone XR. The 1792 x 828 resolution is good, but it's not nearly as sharp as the S10e's 2280 x 1080 resolution. The S10's dynamic AMOLED display is also generally superior to that of the iPhone, with black blacks and bright colors than on an AMOLED display. The Infinity-O perforation screen will also be better for those who do not like the notch of the iPhone 11. The S10e wins hands down.

Winner: Samsung Galaxy S10e

Camera

The Galaxy S10e contains two lenses in its main rear camera module, a 12 megapixel main lens with variable aperture and an optical image stabilizer and a 16 megapixel ultra wide angle lens to capture these large landscapes. It is an excellent camera that takes great pictures, but it can compete with poorly lit scenes.

Although we have not tested it yet, the iPhone 11 should not have any brightness problems as it comes with Apple's new night mode. It also adds an ultra-wide 12-megapixel lens to the 12-megapixel lens of the iPhone XR, and its configuration is impressive. The biggest novelty is probably on the front, though. The TrueDepth camera has been upgraded to 12 megapixels, but it can now also support sled selfies, a feature likely to become an Instagram favorite.

The S10e has a solid camera suite, but we expect the camera of the iPhone 11 to prevail in the mail in terms of the overall quality of the camera. The iPhone takes this.

Winner: Apple iPhone 11

Software and updates

The iPhone 11 comes with the latest version of iOS 13, while the Galaxy S10e comes with Android 9.0 Pie under Samsung's One UI skin. We will not go into the details of iOS versus Android here; It's a pretty personal decision and, frankly, you can get used to it. Both are easy and easy to master, although Samsung's One UI is more customizable than Apple's iOS.

When we look at the updates, it's not so sunny for Samsung. Samsung is one of the slowest to update the new versions of Android, and owners of S10e will probably wait a long time for the new Android 10. In addition, they can expect that major updates of the operating system are drying up after Android 11. No such problems with Apple. The iPhone 11 can expect major iOS updates quickly several years after its release, thanks to the powerful support of Apple for its devices.

As always, Apple wins on the strength of its updates.

Winner: Apple iPhone 11

Special features

Special functions are not missing on either phone. There is no fingerprint sensor on the iPhone 11, which has been replaced by Face ID. Secure face scan technology also powers the excellent Animojis and Memojis and the same technology is used in ARKit 2.0 augmented reality. The gesture navigation of iOS 13 is one of the best, and the virtual assistant Siri Apple is also present.

The Samsung Galaxy S10e offers a similar wealth of special features. There are all the usual features of Android, such as Google Assistant, but also additions of Samsung, such as DeX desktop mode, Bixby and Gear VR (with a special adapter). There is a side fingerprint reader instead of the fingerprint reader built into the other S10 models, but facial recognition too – although it is not as secure as the facial identity.

There are many special features on both phones and, although the S10e has more features than the iPhone 11, many are quite specialized and will probably not be used by many. It's a draw.

Price and availability

The iPhone 11 is available for pre-order starting September 13th and starting at $ 699 for the 64GB model. It will be officially released on September 20th and will be available on most major US carriers. The Galaxy S10e is currently available and prices start at $ 750 for the 128GB model. Like the iPhone, it is also available on most major US carriers.

Winner: Apple iPhone 11

After a fierce battle, the iPhone 11 appears as the final winner. Book by book, our analysis shows that it is the most powerful of the two phones in various categories.

However, the story does not stop there. You can not live without a headphone jack or just love the customization of Android? Then, it's the Samsung Galaxy S10e that you should choose. It's still a powerful phone with a lot of life – and a really great camera. But if the unique factors of Galaxy S10e do not impress you, it's the iPhone 11 that deserves your money.
