Apple M1 processor vs Intel Core i7 “Tiger Lake”. The Dell XPS 13 uses the Core i7-1185G7.

The latest benchmarks show that Intel’s latest “Tiger Lake” processors for laptops stand out against Apple’s M1 chip.
The Apple M1 is used in the latest 13-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pros. The MBA is fanless, while the MBP has a single fan that kicks in when the CPU load is high, giving it slightly better performance than the MBA.

Tiger Lake is Intel’s latest 10-nanometer processor to enter Windows laptops right now. For example, the Core i7 1185G7 processor already appears in the latest Dell XPS 13 9310.
Cinebench R23
Taking a look at the oft-cited Cinebench R23 benchmark, the latest Intel Core i7-1185G7 Tiger Lake mobile processor (10 nanometers) actually beats the M1 by a nose in single-core benchmarks, according to figures released by cpu-monkey.
Single-core Cinebench R23:
-I7: 1.538
-M1: 1.514
The M1, however, beats the Core i7 1185G7 on multi-core Cinebench 23 – but not by the huge margins the media might suggest.
Multicore Cinebench R23:
-M1: 7.760
– i7: 6.264
Geekbench:
Geekbench favors the M1 over the Intel Core i7 1185G7 but, again, not enough for Windows laptop users to notice it over an M1-based MacBook Pro.
Single-core Geekbench 5:

On multicore Geekbench 5, this is a bigger gap, but not a huge one.

While Apple has pulled off a coup with its new M1, Intel is no slouch. This is something to keep in mind as the Tiger Lake laptops roll out in the weeks and months to come.
“Tiger Lake Offers Processor Performance Benefits When Apple Software Is Not Running Natively [on] the M1 and [it also has] the benefit of games that are better optimized for the platform, ”said Klaus Hinum, founder and CTO of Notebookcheck, a site that tests and reviews laptops and other digital devices.
