Apple needs the iPhone SE 2 at the moment. here's why

For most people, the thought of pay $ 1000 for any phone is nonsense. That's why I appreciate the iPhone XR so many. At the very least, this is a concession to a possible direction for Apple, where the iPhones remain well under $ 1,000, but are still excellent phones. However, even before the XR, Apple already had a very good phone, more affordable: the iPhone SE. Many people liked it. It was small, had a fingerprint reader, a headphone jack. It was all that the biggest iPhone did not have and are not today.

And it's gone (even though it was briefly available recently).

Apple could or could not organize a spring event this year. At this event, a new iPad or two, a new AirPodsand who knows, maybe even the AirPower loading mat could appear. But more than any other, it would be great to see the iPhone SE 2.

Here's why.

Leave the headphone jack on it, please.

Phones with headphone jack are still important. Apple may try to evaporate all existing headphone jacks, but people still use traditional headphones. Having at least one phone with a normal headphone jack would be considerate.

Fingerprint sensors are also important. Face ID is a bold technology, and is undoubtedly the future of all biometric products. But it still does not work all the time and everyone does not want to use his face instead of his finger. Having a second option, only for accessibility purposes, would be smart.

If Apple's sales services, the razor must cost less for people to afford to buy the blades. It seems that Apple's subscription content could become considerable, and it goes everywhere. iTunes on TV. Amazon Music to echo. Subscription news reports and perhaps even applications, as well as the television service expected from the company.

How are we going to allow that and an iPhone too? Maybe Apple will have a prominent place in a monthly package that includes a lot of things, as does Amazon Prime. But again, Amazon makes its products very affordable. This is the whole idea.

the iPad of the entry-level has served this purpose very well and has become one of the best products in Apple's current lineup. The iPhone SE should play the same role.

Upgrading the processor and the camera would be more than enough. Most people care about the speed of their phone, the quality of the pictures and the duration of the battery. Assuming that a new iPhone SE enjoys the same excellent battery life as the previous version, I would like only one upgraded A-series processor and a better camera. The SE was basically an iPhone 6S. This time, make the SE 2 the equivalent of the iPhone 8 internally (or even in 7).

Add some water resistance, like the rest of the iPhone range. It's good that today's iPhones can fall into a pool and still go well. Add this to SE 2 would be the icing on the cake.

Look at this:

The iPhone SE 2 of Apple is the phone we need

1:13

Increase the size, just a little. The SE is perfectly compressible. This is also may be a little too small. Raising it to about 4.5 inches from the current size of 4 inches from the SE would allow for a bigger battery and would remain compact. (Apple could also add a face ID and enlarge the screen in a housing as small as the original OS … but I would prefer a cheaper iPhone SE.)

Wireless charging. Adding the Qi refill to the SE 2 would not be practical … it would free the buyers of the need for a Lightning cable. Qi chargers can be bought at very low prices almost everywhere, sometimes for as little as $ 5.

Keep the price low. The iPhone SE started in the spring of 2016 at $ 399 (£ 379, AU 679), but had only 16GB of storage. A new model should aim a little lower ($ 350?) And have at least 64 GB of storage. Now, if my list of features – waterproofing, better camera, wireless charging – is too much for that price, I guess I'm fine with Apple shaving a feature or two.

That's all.

There is not a lot of rocket science on an iPhone SE 2. It's all about knowing if Apple can hit a foot of equality with a more economical iPhone while adding enough value. We will see what happens in the next two months. Apple usually has its spring events in March. If you're looking for a low-cost iPhone in the meantime, maybe you should stick with it, at least until then.
