Apple’s next Apple Watch activity challenge has officially arrived. Apple’s annual “Ring in the New Year” challenge runs until the end of the month and encourages Apple Watch users to close all three rings for seven days in a row.

The Apple Watch activity challenges are intended to promote the use of the watch for fitness and to allow Apple to guide users in using the workout tracking features. This is the third year out of the last four that Apple has organized a “Ring in the New Year” challenge.

While most Apple Watch activity challenges focus on a specific day with a single goal, such as completing a 5k, the “Ring in the New Year” challenge is a bit more difficult: you will have to close your holder, do of exercise and move the rings for seven consecutive days.

If you complete the challenge, Apple will reward you with exclusive badges in the Activity app, as well as stickers to use in Messages and FaceTime.

Start 2021 on the right foot. In January, win this prize by closing all three rings for seven consecutive days.

Conveniently, Apple launched its new Fitness + training service in December, giving Apple Watch users a new way to fill their activity rings every day. Find out how to get started with Fitness + in our comprehensive guide.

Apple is also promoting the January challenge via a video in the Fitness + tab of the Fitness app on iPhone:

Apple Watch users can find more details about the challenge in the Fitness app on their iPhone. Check out the stickers you can unlock below. Will you take part in this “Ring in the New Year” challenge on your Apple Watch? Let us know in the comments!
