Apple’s newest thinner and lighter MacBook Air

In a recent report, Bloomberg reveals that the next series of MacBook Air laptops will be even thinner and lighter than its previous models.

The news comes days after reports indicated that Apple was redesigning the iMac. It appears the tech giant is looking to revamp other products in its repertoire, including the MacBook Air. In addition to the potential downsizing of the already portable laptop, Air’s next refresh will also see a next-gen M1 processor. The laptop will continue to use the same MagSafe charging system, but the company is supposed to be deliberating on a design with smaller screen bezels to ensure portability is really the primary focus.

While reports don’t exactly mention how thinner and lighter the laptop will be than the current model, the upcoming MacBook Air should be positioned as a premium alternative. The current MacBook Air, which is equipped with the most recent M1 chip, will be kept as an entry-level offering.

Those looking for a new laptop alternative might see the next MacBook Air hit the market at the end of this year or in 2022. It will likely release once the upgraded MacBook Pros are available. Apple plans to launch the redesigned iMac and other additional Mac Pro products later this year.

In other news, Apple’s first VR headset could debut next year.
