As the mumps epidemic develops, Temple is preparing to vaccinate 1,800 students and staff members.

Mumps is a contagious viral disease. Common symptoms include swelling of the salivary glands, fever, headache, muscle aches and loss of appetite. Although serious complications are rare, especially in people who have been vaccinated in childhood, mumps can cause brain inflammation, deafness, or infertility.
