Aspen Ladd eliminates a scary weighing

Aspen Ladd is not as worried about her health as the rest of the world followed for her disturbing record at the UFC main event on ESPN + 13 on Saturday.

Although Ladd (8-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) officially weighed in for his featherweight double with Germaine de Randamie (8-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC), the scene was not great. The undefeated rival trembled on the scales and gave the impression that she was on the brink of a serious medical accident.

Despite the worry, Ladd has been laundered by the State Sports Commission of California (CSAC), which oversees the card at Golden1 Center in Sacramento. Nearly seven hours after gaining weight, Ladd reappeared during the ceremonial weigh-in and dismissed the seriousness of the situation.

"I feel fantastic now," Ladd told the UFC during the ESPN + 13 ESPN + weighing show. "I mean, it's always a little hard, it was particularly hard, but I did it, I feel good and I'm ready for tomorrow."

Ladd's visual on the scale caused a lot of concern. It was downplayed by his team, as well as by UFC officials, who provided a follow-up of the situation in a commentary to ESPN reporter Marc Raimondi (via Twitter):

This is not the first time that one of Ladd's weighings has sparked debate. Before her fight against UFC 229 with Tonya Evinger in October, she was also shaking on the scales. She achieved one of the best performances of her career, dominating the former Invicta FC champion in TKO in the first round.
