Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will finally let you skip the kill animations

Before its first major expansion, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will receive a title update tomorrow introducing a series of changes to the game, including the possibility of (finally!) disable destruction animations.

Valhallaof update of title 1.2.1—Which shows 5.5GB on PlayStation 5 and 16GB on Xbox Series X – will add a toggle that turns off destruction animations. To be crystal clear, the kill animations in Valhalla are cool like hel (heim). It’s just that after 92 hours and 46 minutes, watching the same three-second cutscene over and over (and over and over) becomes a bit repetitive. The ability to turn it off is a godsend. To shamelessly steal a joke of yesteryear Kotaku EIC Stephen Totilo, with the kinematics turned off, that 92.75 hours could have been closer to 91.75.

Tomorrow’s update will also add three new skills to the game, all of which appear to be designed to avoid flinching under various circumstances. Cold Rage ensures that enemies cannot interrupt you while you perform successive melee attacks. The same goes for Eye of the North, which prevents flinching when aiming your bow. Finally, Intense Rage allows you to ignore interruptions during parry or special attacks with your weapon while raised.

As always, the title update will fix over two dozen minor bugs related to quests, world events, and side activities.

Valhallafirst major expansion of all of Ireland Wrath of the Druids, will be released on May 13 for all platforms. It was originally slated for an April 29 release, but was delayed earlier this month, a move from Ubisoft written in chalk a change in the company’s approach Assassin’s Creed updates. Rather than introducing an update every four weeks, Ubisoft moved to a five-week schedule “to allow for more in-depth testing and refinement,” which pushed back the timeline for this title update and the Wrath of the Druids Add.
