A woman was killed at an intersection in a busy northern Sydney street today when she was overturned by a truck

NSW policemen were called to the Sherbrook Intersection Road and Burdett Street in Hornsby around 12:45 PM a truck hit a pedestrian.

Authorities confirmed in a statement that the woman, who was not officially identified, died at the scene of the incident.

The driver of the truck has since been taken to Hornsby Hospital for a mandatory drug and alcohol testing

Traffic diversions were set up for motorists around the scene, but have since been lifted.
