DRONES invaded the airspace over Queensland's four high security prisons, forcing them all to remain stranded.
The authorities are investigating Sunday's incidents but have determined that no drugs or other prohibited objects have been thrown into the jails.
It is believed that at least three drones were over the Brisbane Correctional Center, Brisbane Women's Correctional Center. Wolston Correctional Center and Arthur Gorrie Correctional. The four sites are close to each other, southwest of Brisbane
Queensland's Commissioner of Corrections, Peter Martin, described the security threat as "badly crafted."
He said in a statement today
that prison authorities across Australia have been working on how to deal with drone raids. A drone detection test at the Woodford Correctional Center, north of Brisbane, is already underway
The one-month trial aims to detect the location and speed of drones and to intercept communications with the unmanned craft. It will be successful in other Queensland sites. Since then, the four prisons have resumed their normal activities.
