A few days after the disappearance of Karen Ristevski, a detective asked her husband Borce: "Is there anything you want to tell me?"

At the time Borce Ristevski was not in a state of arrest.

David Hallowes SC, the attorney for the wife accused today, recounted today the interview that his client had had with the squad of missing persons

Detective Sergeant Graham Hamilton uttered the phrase "people make mistakes," says Hallowes.

"It's a bit of a homicide squad technique," said the attorney at the Melbourne magistrates' court.

"He is not treated as a suspect at this stage."

The owner of the fashion boutique, Mrs. Ristevsky, disappeared from her home in Avondale Heights in the west of Melbourne on June 29, 2016.

Her husband claims that she left on foot after a fight and never came back. His body was found eight months later between two logs in Macedon Regional Park, northwest of the city.

But the detectives allege that he lied about his movements that day to avoid being spotted.

Karen's aunt said that Borce's accounts seemed "fragile" and that he was not helping the police. "I gave them all the support possible," said Patricia Gray in a police statement, released today by a court.

"But I can say that Borce did not help the police or himself to find Karen,"

Prosecutors compiled a 22,000-page memoir, including CCTV footage that Ristevski would drive his wife's Mercedes to empty the body

An expert in computer systems and digital imaging also testified, CCTV footage taken near Diggers Rest show a car like Mrs. Ristevski's

Images are blurry, but Professor Matthew Sorell, a professor at the University of Adelaide, said that the driver in question had characteristics "globally consistent" with Ristevski.] "I would note the short ha ir, gray color clear, "he said.
