A small farming community was shocked and saddened by the death of an elderly couple in a tragic discovery north-west of Melbourne.
The bodies were found by the couple's grandson just after 10am at a rural farm property on Smiths Road in Parwan, near Bacchus Marsh.
A major police operation was immediately put in place as the police investigated the alleged murder-suicide.
The husband and wife, aged at least 90, are still Police said they were not looking for anyone else about the incident at this point.

A resident told 9 News that she was warmly welcomed by the couple when she settled in the area there are seven years.
"They had a bit of history with the area … they made me feel very welcome," she says.
