A man from Mackay SOUTH is scheduled to appear in front of Mackay's Magistrates Court on Wednesday after police found $ 45,000 worth of marijuana in his car.
Detective Sergeant Emma Novosel stated that the police went to Penn St in the South Mackay area on Tuesday morning to make a search warrant.
It is alleged that the 59-year-old man stated that he had marijuana on his person, but the police then located about 6.1kg of drugs in his car.
"It's a big fine, we estimate that its value is about $ 45,000," said Det Snr Sgt Novosel.
"It seems that we have disrupted this person's business.
"He was charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs, supplying dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of utensils."
The police also reportedly seized $ 2,335 in cash and a mobile phone.
