The Perth businessman, Kerry Stokes, said Kerry Packer was not the father of the bullying that many thought were of him, but he claims he pushed James to the bottom because he wanted that his son reaches his full potential.

Mr Stokes, president of Seven West Media, said Kerry Packer was as direct as anyone else with James. He added that Kerry Packer had asked to meet his sons, Ryan and Bryant Stokes, at school.

Nervous Ryan has come across a list of academic ambitions to be cut short.
"Oh, shit – you're not going to do that," snapped Mr. Packer. "Do not be stupid, your father and I hire people to do these things."
Mr. Stokes stated that Mr. Packer was simply using a different vocabulary to state the facts. Mr. Stokes stated that he had never considered himself a father figure for James Packer, but as a friend and mentor.
