Police are still hunting for the person who murdered Toyah Cordingley on a remote Queensland beach but the destination of the 24-year-old had wanted to call for help, the notorious reception black spot would not have allowed her to.

Queensland police have been on their way to search for Ms Cordingley's killer after her body was found in the sand dunes of Wangetti Beach earlier this week.

Police found Ms Cordingley early on Monday morning with "visible, violent injuries" more than 12 hours after she went out on the beach 40kms north of Cairns.

Since her brutal murder, locals have said the beach's remote location made it almost impossible to receive phone calls to find work if Ms Cordingley had tried to call triple-0 before her death.

Angela Freeman, who owns the iconic Hartley's Crocodile Adventures, told The Courier-Mailthe "black spot only adds to the tragedy".

"Even if Toyah had her voice, it was no signal, and she would not be able to make an emergency call for help," she said.

Police do not worry about Wangetti Beach, taking DNA swabs from local residents.

In the meantime, Detective Inspector Sonia Smith said these police were focused on four key areas in their investigation.

Ms Cordingley was at Rusty's Market in Cairns on Sunday, October 21 between midday and 1pm.

Anyone who might have interacted with her.

Cookies are also appealing to the Captain Cook Highway at Wangetti Beach on Sunday and would like to speak to anyone who uses the northern or southern Wangetti Beach carparks.

Ms Cordingley's family and friends are taking over the 24-year-old.

Her boyfriend Marco Heidenreich is still in love with her girlfriend's devastating murder.

Social media photos show the couple were together for around three years.

Earlier this week, one of Mr Heidenreich's friends shared a photograph of himself and the grieving boyfriend having a drink at Cairns pub.

Ms Cordingley's family reported on Sunday night, frantically sharing photos after she failed to return home by 11pm.

A friend of Ms Cordingley, Megan Love, published on YouTube with a 24-year-old video compilation.

"I can not believe this, I refuse to believe this," Ms Love wrote. "I wanted to be gypsy soul you were. I wanted to be flawless and not just the beauty you had on the outside but the beauty you had on the inside. "

A family friend also used social media to describe the heartbreak of Ms Cordingley's body.

"That morning Kieran rang me his heart was broken because you were missing," The Ley wrote on Facebook.

"Then Kieran rang me back to say you were gone oh god I never cried so much when I heard what he told me and Kieran's heart was shattered to pieces that his little sister was gone." Douglas Shire Mayor Julia Leu issued a statement on Wednesday calling for public help to solve the crime.

"This is a disgusting, horrific and fatal act of violence against a young woman who was enjoying what so many people do on a daily basis – walk along our beautiful beaches," Ms Leu said.

"It is extremely chilling to think of murdering is out there."

Ms Leu said she wants to contact police immediately.
