Two divers were put in the shelter after being trapped in a scam at a popular Sydney beach.
The two women were in the waters off Clovelly, in the eastern suburbs of the city, when they ran into trouble last night.
One of the divers had problems around 9 pm and the other woman swam to help but she also started struggling.
A rescue helicopter and water police ships joined them shortly thereafter.
Both women were sheltered by the helicopter.
Paramedics treated the couple ashore, but both refused transportation to the hospital.
