Adelaide: Cold conditions ahead The Pulse

Weather

ADELAIDE will be having a winter throwback today as “unseasonably” cold conditions loom.

Just last week, Adelaide was experiencing its hottest day in six months as temperatures soared well into the 30s.

Wednesday, however, is expected to only reach 17C.

Not much rain fell overnight, with just 1mm recorded in Adelaide, but it is expected to pick up later this morning.

The Bureau of Meteorology are also predicted a chance of a late morning thunderstorm in a day it has described as “unseasonably cold”.

“Last night, we had a cold front move over the Adelaide area,” said Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Mark Anolak.

“I imagine we’ll see an increase in shower activity later this morning and early afternoon before it clears off later tonight,” he said.

Tomorrow won’t be much warmer with a forecast 19C and cloudy, before warming up in time for the weekend.

“This week we’ve got a high pressure system that will dominate our weather,” Mr Anolak said.

Mr Anolak also predicts temperatures will reach 30C by next Tuesday.
