A 26-year-old man died of a suspicion of dehydration after a hike in the popular tourist spot, Nature & # 39; s Window, in the West Central region of Western Australia.

The Northam man was with friends when he collapsed shortly after a hike in Kalbarri National Park up to Nature's Window, about 485 kilometers north of Perth.

The Washington State police claimed to believe that this man may have succumbed to dehydration.

Emergency services and the St. John Ambulance were called into the area shortly after 1:00 pm when a friend of the man sounded the alarm.

"He had just done the 8 km walk and he collapsed just before Nature & # 39; s Window. He was almost back to the beginning as the loop started and ended at the same point." Service, Steve Cable, said.

He said the heat could quickly become deadly for those who were unprepared.

Cable said that ignoring heat, stress and dehydration could have tragic consequences.

He said that while the recent incident was tragic, many are traveling safely.

"You can do it, you can do it safely and comfortably, but you have to choose your time and you have to be prepared," Cable said.

"It's a beautiful walk and a great adventure, but just be smart."
