The daughters of a missing Hobart man are inviting people on social media to join in on the search, four days after his disappearance.

Elson Robert Kiddle, 70, was last seen on Friday morning when he left his West Moonah home to play golf.

In a Facebook post late on Monday, Teagan Kiddle asked people to share her post.

“I’ll be organising a full search party for tomorrow Tuesday 13th at 9am,” it read.

“For all of those who would like to search with us please arrive shortly before 9am with walking gear at Lumeah St, Lenah Valley (off Kalang Ave). Please help us find our Dad.”

An extensive air and ground operation began in the foothills of kunanyi/Mount Wellington, near Lenah Valley, on Monday, but searchers have failed to locate the father of four.

Daughter Shereen Kiddle also posted to Facebook yesterday.

“Any walkers welcome to cover The Springs to Lenah Valley — or Reservoir behind Lime Kiln Gully behind Tolosa Street,” she said.

“Hobart is looking for our Dad….He could have walked for hours by now.

“Tell him his 4 girls still need him.”

Monday’s search operation involved more than 50 people scouring four square kilometres of bushland over a 10-hour period.

Motorbikes, quadbikes, a sniffer dog, the rescue helicopter and the State Emergency Service scoured the bushland.

Mr Kiddle was initially thought to have gone golfing but the discovery of his ute parked at the entrance to a walking track in Lenah Valley yesterday morning prompted police to believe he went bushwalking.

Mr Kiddle is described as a fit and active man, of slim build and white hair.

Police searched for Mr Kiddle at Taroona beach by helicopter over the weekend.

Police are urging anyone with any information to contact Crime Stoppers.
