How two best friends helped create 40 babies

Two women who formed a bond on their love to help other women become moms, became their best friends – and helped to produce 35 babies. If you count the children of Melissa Holman and Sarah Connor, that number stands at 40 – and there's a day every potential baby who could come from frozen embryos in the country to give desperate parents a family .

The women, who met through Egg Donation Australia, would be the unofficial holders of the world record for egg donation.

Ms. Connor was helped to give birth to 13 babies and three children. Ms. Holman founded Egg Donation Australia in 2011 when the process was "taboo".

It was not difficult for couples to find donors – there were not many around or wanted to come In fact, a process that took two years to find a donor took between five and nine weeks.

Mrs. Holman took the path of surrogacy in 2015 after years of giving.

The first mother she helped had already had miscarriages. Holman had three miscarriages in the surrogacy process, they decided to use his own eggs and finally succeeded.

"She was going through her own miscarriages, she lost five babies in four pregnancies and she treated with such a positivity, even though it was known Mrs. Holman said," I did not get to say no, I wanted her to become a mother. "
