Inquiry means Australia’s worst female serial killer could walk free

An inquiry into the conviction of “Australia’s most hated woman” starts today.

Kathleen Folbigg, Australia’s worst female serial killer, was jailed for 30 years in 2003 over the killing of her four children.

The NSW Attorney-General launched the inquiry to investigate possible doubts over the evidence which led to her conviction.

From 1989 four of Folbigg’s children – aged between 19 days and 19 months – were killed.

Caleb, Patrick, Laura and Sarah all died before their 2nd birthday.

The inquiry will last between six and 12 months, and could see her walk free after 15 years behind bars.
