Suske Mayor Logan Luke Smith was charged with badault after a disturbance in a house south of Brisbane.
Police arrested Smith, 48, after attending the home at Meadowbrook around 8am Friday.
A few hours later, Smith was charged with badault, obstructing the police and intentional damage and taken to the Beenleigh surveillance home.
Smith should stay behind bars for the night. He was charged with corruption and perjury by the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) in 1965
. These accusations led Smith to be suspended from his mayor's office in May. but he promised to defend the accusations.
According to the CCC, Friday's charges are unrelated to their investigations into charges of bribery against Logan City Council.
Smith is one of the many southeastern Queens. the mayors of the lands will be indicted by the CCC, including former mayor of Ipswich, Paul Pisasale, the mayor of the Fraser Coast Regional Council, Chris Loft, and the current mayor of Ipswich, Andrew Antoniolli.
