POLICE will investigate whether power-badisted mountain bikes taken from stores in Melbourne and Geelong were stolen to order.
CCTV footage shows men taking a bike from a store in Flemington last Thursday, before the owner pursues them and catches them at the bottom of a getaway.
The two men are believed to be behind the flight panic in the suburbs, including South Melbourne, Brunswick East, Keilor Park, Pascoe Vale, Grovedale and Hoppers Crossing between Oct. 28 and yesterday.

Sergeant Tony French told 3AW that the bikes were worth between $ 1,500 and $ 5,500, and that there were five left.
"They (the thieves) sometimes spoke about bikes to employees first," he said.
"A lot of bikes are similar in that they are power-badisted mountain bikes that are worth a lot of money. It is possible that they are stolen to order.
"We hope to hear from the public if anyone has information about unloading new bikes anywhere, whether it's social media or sites such as eBay."
Speaking of the November 1st robbery attempt at Flemington, Sgt French said the store owner was "very lucky".
"The offender threw the bike into the back of the car and the owner luckily was able to get there in time to get his bike back," he said.
One of the suspects, described by the police as the main perpetrator, is between 30 and 40 years old, is of Middle Eastern or Pacific Island appearance and is about 185 cm tall with a hollow belly.
The other men are the same age, have olive complexion and solid build.
Anyone recognizing the duo should contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or crimestoppersvic.com.au.
