SHOWGROUNDS around the Southern Downs will raise the amount of a $ 400,000 boost to the state government's entertainment company grants program.
The Warwick Show and Rodeo Society will receive a total of $ 17,160 for operating and maintenance costs or for the construction of the fair facilities.
Just before the Warwick 2018 rodeo, the announcement was great news for the members of the company.
The exhibition's president, John Maher, said the funding could contribute to major renovations in the courses that would improve facilities for users and customers.
"I am a little stunned but grateful that we have earned a little more money," said Maher.
Rodeo President Peel Tribe said Warwick's infrastructure and badets needed to be modernized. Electrical infrastructure could be improved to meet the high demand for on – site electricity during the rodeo and the annual show. "Every room helps offset the costs of running the place because we are privately owned," said Tribe.
Along with improvements in water and electricity, Mr. Tribe said that it would be good to consider an air conditioning solution for the future Douglas Feez Pavilion.
