A rescue team was hoisted in an area under the summit of Mount Warning to treat a mountaineer with an alleged broken leg at 9 am this morning.
A helicopter and ambulance attendant from Westpac Rescue were hoisted to Winch Point 4, just below the summit, to heal the man who fell from the chain to the top of the mountain.
A Helicopter Carrier from Westpac Rescue stated that no details had been leaked as to the identity or age of the man, but that "no" he would be transferred to Tweed Heads Hospital or Gold Coast University Hospital depending on the severity of his injuries.
Many walkers try to climb the mountain early in the morning to watch the sun rise over the ocean. The conditions were perfect for a dawn climb this morning because of the weak wind and the cloudless sky.
