The death of a Sydney man hit and killed by a car while he was checking his truck broke down on a busy highway witnessed his girlfriend, who had just arrived on places.
Jesse Barclay was returning from work when he had to go to the emergency lane on the M2 at Baulkham Hills last night.
Police say that the 23-year-old man was moving around the vehicle when he was hit by a westbound car just after 7:30 pm
Pbading motorists rushed to help him, but the young man died on the scene.
9NEWS understands that the man had called his girlfriend to take care of her and that she had just arrived.
The driver of the car was taken to the hospital for mandatory testing, but no charges were laid.
Mr. Barclay is remembered by his friends as a young man of heart and outdoors enthusiast.
This is the second pedestrian killed on the highway in less than a fortnight and the police say it's a tragic reminder of the importance of safety in case of a breakdown. 39, a vehicle.
