In Breitenbrunn, in the district of Eisenstadt-Umgebung, there was a verbal confrontation in the family circle Sunday evening, around 20 hours. The reason for this dispute was a rifle that the 61-year-old nephew got from his 87-year-old uncle about ten years ago and that he has now recovered.

After the 61-year-old Burgenlander again refused and verbally stated that he would not surrender the rifle, the 87-year-old uncle took a loaded weapon inside from his car and approached his nephew. With this weapon in his hand he demanded the immediate release of the rifle.

The nephew runs away and asks for the help of a police patrol on the main road (B 50) to Breitenbrunn. Shortly thereafter, the opponent also arrived.

After discovering the facts, the 87-year-old man was asked to reveal the location of the handgun. This could then be found in a loaded state in the pbadenger seat – under a jacket – by police officers.

Prohibition of firearms for 87 years

He confessed to the officials that they had held the revolver in his request for the rifle, but he would have done so only at his request to give emphasis. In no case would he have wanted to shoot his nephew.

The 87 year old man is in possession of a firearms license. In addition, two registered shoulder guns and their ammunition could be secured in the house. A temporary ban on weapons was issued against the owner of the weapon.

The accused was taken to the prosecutor's office in Eisenstadt
