Auxiliary Bishop Stephan Turnovszky and Lower Austrian State Deputies and State Council on the Environment, Stephan Pernkopf, received the "2018 Diocesan Environment Prize" at the Bildungshaus Schloss Großrußbach on November 16th. The prize, sponsored by the Environmental Office of the Archdiocese of Vienna and endowed with 1,000 euros each, was awarded to two parishes of the Archdiocese of Vienna: Strbadhof and Großebersdorf.

The parish participated in the "car fasting"

The Pfbad Strbadhof has been honored because it does a lot of little things and good things for the environment. From parish feast and parish cafes, where only reusable dishes and fair trade or regional products are used for the traffic, where the parish participates in "car fasting", organized cycling tours for families and the pastor who gives up a car, here is everything there. With regard to the prevention of waste, wax residues, glbades, waste and stamps are also collected.

The parish of Großebersdorf took advantage of the conversion of Pfarrheim to take many steps in the direction of sustainability. So there is LED lighting, a well-equipped functional kitchen, so that glbades, plates and cutlery are obvious and that no plastic dishes are used, an orderly separation of waste, environmentally friendly cleaners. the environment and fair coffee. In addition, the parish participated in a "self-fasting" and set up an electric filling station in cooperation with the community. It is also a pilot parish of the project "Parish FairWandeln".
