At 11:24, there is nothing left in downtown Linz. A disturbance in the Linz-Mitte substation caused a large-scale power outage. The affected area extends from the harbor on the highway until Blumau. On Linz Urfahr, the power outage had no effect. According to Linz AG, alternative measures were introduced quickly and consumers were reconnected successively to the grid via other substations. All customers were online again at 1:10 pm
Defect in substation
The substation is located in Lederergbade. Many people were surprised when buying at the lunch break from the sudden blackout. In the savings market next to the substation, a backup generator was only supplying cooling. Everything else was without electricity and the supermarket was closed. The Trafikant at Spar in the Holzstraße said: "Since they no longer have to hire, it will take time."
