Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini has reportedly sued the author of the best-selling anti-mafia "Gomorra" Roberto Saviano for defamation. "I filed a lawsuit against Saviano, as promised," wrote the Interior Minister yesterday during the Twitter Briefing
"I accept any criticism, but I do not allow anyone to tell me that I help mafia ". Saviano, who has been under police protection since the publication of his mafia book in 2006, has repeatedly criticized Salvini's right wing for his xenophobic policies. In response, Salvini recently threatened the author Saviano with the deprivation of police protection, prompting Saviano to appoint the Interior Minister on Facebook as "Minister of Hell."

To check the police protection of Saviano, the author criticized the "disgusting" atmosphere of Italy . In a video on Facebook, the author also described the Home Secretary as an "idiot" and said he was "happy" to be "one of his enemies".
Saviano published this week a photo of a dead man in the Mediterranean. Refugee woman and a child and asked "how much joy" this picture will make the minister and leader of the right-wing populist Lega party. "The hatred you have sown will make you fall," writes Saviano to Salvini.
