Presidential Election in Georgia: Ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs in the lead

After the presidential election in Georgia, the favorite Salome Zurabishvili took the lead in the badessment of the votes, but is expected in November against their challenger Grigol Waschadse in the second round.

After counting the results in more than a third of the polling stations, the former foreign minister was today, according to official figures, with a share of the votes of just under 42%, against about 35 % for Waschadse. Zurabishvili was an independent candidate and was supported by the Georgian Dream party. In the event of electoral success, this 66-year-old woman would be the first woman to hold the highest position in Tbilisi.
