East Hartford, Connecticut (APA / Reuters) – United Technologies should split into three companies. The aerospace division with recently acquired rivals rivals Rockwell Collins and Pratt & Whitney, the Otis elevator division and the Carrier air-conditioning division are expected to be independent, the company said Monday.
United Technologies has long been under pressure from activist investors to split the conglomerate. The division is expected to be completed by 2020.
